Welcome to the debut episode of the CAPS Unlock podcast, hosted by me, Peter Leonard, communications coordinator at CAPS Unlock. In this introductory episode, I’m joined by executive director Aida Aidarkulova and program coordinator Tlegen Kuandykov.
This episode is a bit of a behind-the-scenes introduction, so forgive us if it feels a little navel-gazing. Consider it a get-to-know-you session.
We discuss CAPS Unlock’s focus on key areas like international relations, social and economic justice, digital democracy, and climate change. We also touch on the broader challenges regional think tanks face, from funding constraints to navigating issues like academic freedom.
Looking ahead, future episodes will include a mix of insights on current developments in the region and interviews with area specialists—content we hope will both inform and engage.
Bear with us as we iron out any early technical hiccups. In the fullness of time, you will get a nice, polished listening experience. That, at least, is the plan.
